Pilar Cristancho, MD

Dr. Cristancho specializes in treatment of mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Colombia) and completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Pennsylvania. Post-residency, she pursued a fellowship in brain stimulation interventions, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), vagus nerve stimulation and electro-convulsive therapy.  Dr. Cristancho is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has directed the TMS clinic at WashU since 2012. This clinic has pioneered the clinical use of TMS in St. Louis.

Apart from her clinical work, she is also involved in clinical research. She received support from a Diversity Supplement by the National Institute of Mental Health. In this capacity, she is working in geriatric depression with Eric Lenze, MD, at the Healthy Mind Lab. She considers this research important to improving the care she gives patients and is highly committed to advancing the field of TMS and brain stimulation therapies.

She is a member of the  American Psychiatric Association, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Society and The International Society for ECT and Neurostimulation, and was included on the Best Doctors, Inc. List for 2015 – 2016.

Jacinda Berger, APRN

Jacinda is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She has extensive experience working with patients with psychiatric disorders and performing TMS treatments. She is also a certified critical care registered nurse.
